once from the topic you can realize that it seems to be too harsh but that’s the reality that we are in now. The Crooked Lady, with her hollow eyes, hunched back, and claw-like fingers, is more than just a creature from nightmares.
She’s a reflection. Of pain. Of hunger. Of a life that’s been bent and twisted by hardship that we as jobless youths undergo each day. The Silent Struggle of Jobless Youth
For many young people today such as me, especially in developing countries like Kenya, life feels like a horror story that doesn’t end. You study very hard and put effort to a certain goals and dreams hard but still wake up each morning with no job, no income, and no clear path forward. You start to feel like you’re fading into the background, like society has forgotten you.
Just look upon yourself once maybe you think right now you might have been something else, someone full of life, but what really happened? you too may begin to feel disfigured by pressure, rejection, and constant waiting. Your confidence curves into insecurity. Your spirit withers. And you start to feel like a ghost in your own story.
The Nightgown That Doesn’t Fit
The life we live is like this, a person wearing a nightgown that should be floral, be comforting, warm aa a symbol of home or care. But on us, it’s unsettling. It doesn’t fit us anymore.
That’s what it feels like to be a jobless youth in today’s world. We have the education. The skills. The potential. But we wear a future that doesn’t feel made for us. We are forced to smile when we’re breaking inside. We are expected to stay hopeful when every door closes. And the people who once encouraged us now look at us with pity, or worse, judgment.
Hungry, But Not Just for Food
The sharp grin of life can be seen as hunger, but it’s more than that. It’s the hunger for meaning. For opportunity. For freedom from the mental torment of being stuck while watching others succeed.
Many of us especially youths today are “hungry” too not just in the physical sense, but emotionally and spiritually. Hungry for a chance to prove ourselves. For someone to believe in us. And hungry for a system that actually works not only going to school for nothing later in life
Don’t Let the Struggle Twist You
Here’s the truth: life is hard. Especially when you’re trying your best and still feel like you’re going nowhere. But you are not the Crooked life Not yet. Don’t let your hope decay. Don’t let society’s neglect bend your back or your dreams. Speak out. Start small. Hustle smart. Collaborate. Learn something new. Even if you’re in the dark, keep moving because stillness is what creates shadows, the Crooked Life may be terrifying but it’s also a warning. It reminds us of what can happen when society forgets its youth. When opportunity is locked away. When effort isn’t rewarded.
But it’s also a call to action.
To every young person struggling out there: You are not alone. Your pain is real. But so is your power. Keep showing up, because your story isn’t over it’s just taking a darker chapter before the breakthrough
